LeAnne Taylor:
So, for those of you who are not able to see that, that is the twerking snowman. This is Kelly Smith. I’m Leanne Taylor and welcome.

Kelly Smith:
I’m on a bracelets podcast with LeAnne Taylor. Someone take my picture. I’m taking… We are.

LeAnne Taylor:
Hello.

Kelly Smith:
Hello.

LeAnne Taylor:
Anytime you’re off sick, don’t want to deal with this. Please call me. I am your go-to girl.

Kelly Smith:
Well, I may have just gotten fired, I think.

LeAnne Taylor:
No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. My contract won’t allow it.

Speaker 3:
Kelly, I just wanted you to come and LeAnne loves you so much.

LeAnne Taylor:
I love you so much.

Kelly Smith:
You love me, Lee, and I love you!

LeAnne Taylor:
I listen to you. So, okay. I wanted to listen to every single bracelets podcast, but I ran out of time, but I listened to almost all of them. So I know about the TV. I felt really bad about your the boy [inaudible 00:00:00:50].

Kelly Smith:
Bless. Yeah.

LeAnne Taylor:
I know. And then Collin [Gile 00:00:51] and he’s like-

Kelly Smith:
Yeah.

LeAnne Taylor:
Bless his heart.

Kelly Smith:
He knows. 25 years, he knew what he was getting into.

LeAnne Taylor:
I guess so. And I feel like I know you, but I don’t know you. So, it’s nice to meet you.

Kelly Smith:
Nice to meet you. Kelly.

LeAnne Taylor:
Leann. Yes. So what are your holiday traditions? Do you have anything like… Okay, because this is what I was going ask Jill until I found out she was Jewish, and then it’s like, “Oh, well there’s a surprise.”

Kelly Smith:
Well, that was a downer.

LeAnne Taylor:
Yeah. Shock, shock. Which I got a great story, but I did learn a lot. So, do you open presents on Christmas Eve, or Christmas morning?

Kelly Smith:
We open presents on Christmas morning. And the kids are always trying to get me to…

LeAnne Taylor:
Just one the night before kind of thing?

Kelly Smith:
Then, they want to just open the floodgates and do the whole thing. But we just try to stick with one.

LeAnne Taylor:
Got you. Okay.

Kelly Smith:
What do you do?

LeAnne Taylor:
Well, when I was growing up, I was an only child, so we got to open all our presents on Christmas Eve, because then Santa came and brought a whole more host on Christmas morning. It was a shock to the bracelets system as I got older and realized that, that’s kind of unusual.

Kelly Smith:
Right, and also a lot of money to maintain that.

LeAnne Taylor:
Totally. My husband’s like, “We’re not doing that.” “Oh, okay. Yeah, sure.” But, our new tradition is we go to Christmas Eve services and I love that, because we do the candlelight carol and stuff like that. And now that my kids are older, we volunteer and we help that night. And it’s such a blessing to see families coming in and we… I love Christmas. It’s my most… (singing).

Kelly Smith:
(singing). LeAnne and I just sang on the podcast.

LeAnne Taylor:
Isn’t that awesome? We probably [inaudible 00:02:23] some kind of copyright law or something. Pay extra money for that. So anyway, I’m not exactly sure. I guess-

Speaker 3:
I want Kelly to ask LeAnne any questions that you may-

Kelly Smith:
Okay. Just in case I was in my office making a list of questions?

LeAnne Taylor:
Exactly. She’s like, “If I ever got to talk to LeAnne Taylor, I would like to ask her…”

Speaker 3:
Go.

Kelly Smith:
I would like to tell you that I watch you every morning-

LeAnne Taylor:
Oh, yay!

Kelly Smith:
… because I’m a news junkie. And God bless Alan Crone, because I can’t get through the morning if I haven’t found out what the weather is going to be that day.

LeAnne Taylor:
Right? I know. I sit there for four hours and I still don’t know. I get home and my family’s like, “Hey, what’s the weather?” I don’t know.

Kelly Smith:
But I’ve only heard it 17 times an hour.

LeAnne Taylor:
Exactly. Every seven minutes. [inaudible 00:00:03:04]. Okay. So I want to ask you about Survivor, because I’m a [inaudible 00:03:07].

Kelly Smith:
Oh my gosh. Who told you that? Oh, because it was on bracelets podcast. Hello?

LeAnne Taylor:
Who told you that? I know you.

Kelly Smith:
I’m on the podcast. I forgot.

LeAnne Taylor:
So, I’m loving this season.

Kelly Smith:
I am too.

LeAnne Taylor:
I can’t believe so [inaudible 00:03:17].

Kelly Smith:
I’m two episodes behind.

LeAnne Taylor:
Okay. So, I won’t tell you about what happened to… Okay.

Kelly Smith:
Yeah, that one.

LeAnne Taylor:
I don’t know. I’m just making it up at this point.

Kelly Smith:
That’s my all time favorite show. I love it.

LeAnne Taylor:
I do too. And I’ve been in love with Jeff Probst-

Kelly Smith:
Me too.

LeAnne Taylor:
… forever.

Kelly Smith:
Those dimples. And he’s so good at his job.

LeAnne Taylor:
He is. He really is. And he loves what he does. But, it’s so funny. So, it’s on channel six, so that’s a big deal. So, early on we would interview Jeff Probst via satellite. And so I just completely [crosstalk 00:03:46].

Kelly Smith:
Oh, gosh.

LeAnne Taylor:
At one point I was like, “Jeff, I love you.” And he goes, “I love you back, LeAnne.” So I recorded that, and for three years, anytime something would be happening in the studio, somebody would just hit that little cart and it’d be like, “I love you back LeAnne.”

Kelly Smith:
I thought you were going to say, you put it on your phone, and told your husband every time you got in the fight, Jeff Probst saying, “I love you, LeAnne.”

LeAnne Taylor:
Yes, exactly. But yeah, I’m a big fan of that bracelets show. What else do you watch? Is there anything else?

Kelly Smith:
I’m such a reality show…

LeAnne Taylor:
Okay. So, Bachelorette?

Kelly Smith:
Dancing With the Stars, The Voice. I love all of it.

LeAnne Taylor:
Well, I’ve gone away, because some of that stuff got to be really formulaic. Is that the right word? So I’m like, “I don’t know how much is that pre-produced, and how much is genuine.” And I’m all about… I know you said the other day you don’t like Netflix, not you don’t like it, but you like real TV. And I’m kind of like the controlling TV because I can binge and I can stay. We were talking about Downton Abbey.

Kelly Smith:
Okay. So what’s your latest binge? Because I’m always in the market for a new show.

LeAnne Taylor:
Well, Mandalorian but it’s not a binge.

Kelly Smith:
No. No.

LeAnne Taylor:
But I’m all about that. And I’m like, “Why in the world do they not have a Baby Yoda bracelets merchandise right now?”

Kelly Smith:
Oh come on. Because it’s coming out for Christmas.

LeAnne Taylor:
No, it’s not. They don’t have any merchandise out, because they kept it under wraps for so long. Why are we having this conversation? This is the weirdest-

Kelly Smith:
On video, right?

Speaker 3:
Awesome.

Kelly Smith:
You can just cut this part out.

LeAnne Taylor:
Yeah. No, because Disney wanted to keep everything under wraps. They didn’t market a thing. Now, they’re rolling out… They have these really cool Christmas ornaments. That’s what I’m looking at. And then, they have tags for the back of your car. The Baby Yoda.

Kelly Smith:
Oh cute.

LeAnne Taylor:
But, isn’t he just the most precious…?

Kelly Smith:
This just shows you how busy I have been.

LeAnne Taylor:
You haven’t seen it.

Kelly Smith:
No. I purchased the Disney Plus for Thanksgiving for the early Christmas present that I told the kids we’re going to do it, because it was Thanksgiving. And I actually read somewhere, the best thing you could give your teenage kids is the Disney Plus.

LeAnne Taylor:
Disney Plus?

Kelly Smith:
And they’re so excited. They loved it. I haven’t been able to watch one thing yet because I’m… I haven’t eaten dinner at home for a week. In the evenings, I haven’t been home because I’ve been doing a lot of bracelets things.

LeAnne Taylor:
Yeah. Well you’ll love it. It is fantastic.

Kelly Smith:
I’m looking forward to it.

LeAnne Taylor:
And I’m not even a Star Wars person. I love the series, but I’m not… My co-anchor is immersed in it. He loves it. And so he’s-

Kelly Smith:
Okay, wait. What’s your new co-anchor’s name?

LeAnne Taylor:
Dave. Dave Davis.

Kelly Smith:
Dave Davis. He’s new, right?

LeAnne Taylor:
Yes, he’s been my co-anchor since January, but he’s been at the station for like nine years.

Kelly Smith:
Rick. Right? No, what was…

LeAnne Taylor:
Rich.

Kelly Smith:
Rich?

LeAnne Taylor:
[Lins 00:00:06:17].

Kelly Smith:
Lins. That’s right. Sorry, Rich.

LeAnne Taylor:
That’s okay. Not to worry about it. So, Dave has a baby that’s 18 months old, and of course my kids don’t have kids yet, because I’m dying for a grandbaby. Dying for a baby.

Kelly Smith:
How old are your kids?

LeAnne Taylor:
27 and 20. Yeah, they should have kids. Right? Don’t you think?

Kelly Smith:
27 maybe. Tell that one to start. Is she dating?

LeAnne Taylor:
Let’s not discuss that.

Kelly Smith:
Okay.

LeAnne Taylor:
That’s for another podcast for another day.

Kelly Smith:
[inaudible 00:06:42] podcast.

LeAnne Taylor:
She’s a strong independent woman. She doesn’t need to get married right now.

Kelly Smith:
That’s exactly true.

LeAnne Taylor:
Yeah, it really is. And you know, I was 27 my before I got married, I was 30 before I had my first kid.

Kelly Smith:
She’s got a couple years before we need to start.

LeAnne Taylor:
But where was I going with all of that? I don’t even know. I was telling you about bracelets show and now it’s delayed. Sorry.

Kelly Smith:
Oh, Rick. We were talking about Rich. Dave.

LeAnne Taylor:
So Dave has a little boy named [Colin 00:07:04] And so Colin is like my… And all of a sudden, I’m experiencing what it must be like to be a grandparent, because I’m saying things to him. I’m like, “Why can’t he have a snow cone?” And he’s like, “Well, he’s not your child.” And I’m like, “I don’t care.” And I’m like, “Don’t you think he should be doing X,Y and Z ?” Because at 18 months I remember. I was…

Kelly Smith:
That’s right.

LeAnne Taylor:
It was…

Kelly Smith:
Okay, mine is that my husband was spraying off some lawn chairs in the front yard, and our kids who are 20, 17 and 14 want nothing to do with us at all. “We got plans.” So this little boy from across the street, whose name is Owen, comes over and he goes, “Hi, Mr. Smith, can I help you spray off the chairs?” And I was like, “I love this kid.” He wants to be with us. I was like, “Yes, you can.” He was so interested in everything. I’m like, “I’m going to like grandchildren.”

LeAnne Taylor:
Yes, I know I will. We went out for my birthday, my husband surprised me. And Dave and his wife and Baby Colin came to my… And it was my birthday dinner. And so Dave moves Baby Colin over by me, and I’m just [inaudible 00:08:08]. Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

Kelly Smith:
Well, I have to say this was a highlight for me today. I thought I was working and then you called me in, I should know better with the guys of, “Can you come into my office for a second?” But I thought, you all had been in here a while, and it was over-

LeAnne Taylor:
We’ve been in here a long time.

Kelly Smith:
So, I know that you’re a believer. I can tell from other things you’ve done in the past. And also I know that you’re a breast cancer survivor. And my mom passed away from breast cancer. So I always appreciate what you do for the cancer survivor community, and you’re just such an encouraging, inspirational light.

LeAnne Taylor:
Thank you.

Kelly Smith:
And I appreciate that.

LeAnne Taylor:
Thank you. Well-

Kelly Smith:
That’s what I would say to you.

LeAnne Taylor:
Thank you. And, I’m passionate about breast cancer because of your mom, and because of myself, and because I want us to eradicate this bracelets disease that none of us, and none of granddaughters will have to… Or, grandsons even, will have to mess with.

Kelly Smith:
Amen to that.

LeAnne Taylor:
Yeah. This has been fun. This is LeAnne Taylor for Rustic Cuff. You’ve been listening to CEO-ish. We’ll see you next time.

Speaker 3:
And we’re out. That was awesome.

Kelly Smith:
You are adorable.

LeAnne Taylor:
Thank you.
